The Shenandoah County office of Virginia Cooperative Extension is your local connection to Virginia's land-grant universities, Virginia Tech and Virginia State University. Through educational programs based on research and developed with input from local stakeholders, we help the people of Shenandoah County improve their lives. We provide education through programs in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development, and Community Viability.

2019 Summer Day Camps

NATURE DAY CAMP IS CANCELLED
Nature Day Camp          July 10-11, 2019          8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.          $55
Strasburg Park           Ages 9-13

Get ready to have two days full of nature! Campers will learn about the Shenandoah River, wildlife, and forestry. Play games and create crafts that explore the world of water bugs, tree ID, and native wildlife. Campers must bring a lunch, snacks will be provided. Campers will be active and will spend some time at the Strasburg pool in the afternoon, weather-permitting. Wear comfortable shoes/clothing and bring a towel, sunscreen, and swimsuit. This event has limited, partial scholarships available for those showing need. Please contact the Virginia  Cooperative Extension 4-H at (540) 459-6140.

 

Cloverbud Day Camp          July 25-26, 2019          8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.         $55    
County Government Center, Woodstock          Ages 5-8
Have fun learning basic educational building blocks through a variety of physical, nutritional, and educational activities. Play games and create crafts that build confidence and character, while reinforcing educational topics. Campers must bring a lunch, snacks will be provided. This event has limited, partial scholarships available for those showing need. Please contact  Virginia Cooperative Extension 4-H at (540) 459-6140 for  scholarship information.

 

Agriculture Day Camp         July 29-August 1, 2019          8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.         $90    
W. O. Riley Park, Woodstock          Ages 7-13
Whether you grew up on a family farm or in town, this camp is a great way to learn more about agriculture. Campers will experience hands-on presentations on livestock, horses, and crop production. They will also play games and create crafts related to agriculture. Campers must bring a lunch, snacks will be provided. Campers will be active and will spend some time at the Woodstock pool in the afternoon, weather-permitting. Wear comfortable shoes/clothing and bring a towel, sunscreen, and swimsuit.
